INTES will attend the NAFEMS Regional Conferences in Bamberg on 8-9 Mai 2012 and in Gothenburg on 22-23 Mai 2012. Paper presentations will be given and INTES will participate in the accompanying exhibition at these conferences (see NAFEMS website for Bamberg event) and (see NAFEMS website for Gothenburg event).

In Bamberg, INTES will talk about "Vibration Compatible Design of Beads" to describe the bead generation for dynamic applications in PERMAS.

In Gothenburg, INTES will give the presentation "Simulation of Part Assemblies under Various Loading Conditions" about part connections using contact analysis in PERMAS.

New dates for workshops in 2012

Please note that all workshops will be held in German. If you wish an English training please contact us for an individual
arrangement.

New Workshops - Register Now!
2011-08-30
We offer new PERMAS workshops for the second half-year 2011.

In December our automobile week takes place where practice-orientated courses on methods for engine and car body
analysis will be presented. We will discuss how participants can use PERMAS methods effectively e.g. how the new
method for gasket-calculation can help to reduce the calculation time.

We also want to draw your attention to our free VisPER training. Even experienced PERMAS users can learn how graphically
complex models can be supported during the model definition.

For more information see here.

Please note that all workshops will be held in German. If you wish an English training please contact us for an individual
arrangement.

PERMAS - The Innovative Power of Simulation

High Productivity by Powerful and Efficient FEA in Static and Dynamic Applications and Optimization

Under this banner INTES will participate in the EDM CAE Forum of Daimler AG on 12 and 13 July 2011 at the conference center ICS of Stuttgart Fair.

For this event, we summarize our activities like this:

Productivity in FE (Finite Element) analysis is determined by the availability of suitable methods, their accuracy, and performance. PERMAS provides integrated methods for static and dynamic analysis of simple parts up to complete vehicles. Improvements of part and system behaviour can be determined by additionally integrated optimization methods.

High performance of PERMAS is achieved by special algorithms (like contact analysis or dynamic eigenvalue analysis) and a universal parallelization approach with high scalability.

The highly accurate and very fast contact analysis is available for static engine analysis, leading to run time reductions by a factor of over 20. The accuracy of the method could be proven by the analysis of slip-stick effects of press-fits and ball bearings. Nonlinear optimization can be used to reduce contact pressures (like in pistons or connection rods).

In addition, PERMAS provides elektro-thermal anaylsis, where the induced heat by electric current flow is taken into account in a coupled heat transfer analysis with heat exchange by radiation (like electronic control units in vehicles). This application uses only one model, i.e. different elements for electric current flow analysis and thermal analysis are not needed.

Since a couple of years. PERMAS is getting a dedicated grahical user interface VisPER (for Visual PERMAS). Model verification, completion of physical model, and post-processing are the main topics of development. For optimization, contact analysis, and generation of fluid meshes for enclosed fluids (to perform acoustic analysis) special guided input menus are available for model data preparation.

The attached poster is showing some of the mentioned analysis and optimization capabilities.
